Graduation Information




Students must complete the required 23 credits* in order to earn a high school diploma and to participate in the GHS graduation ceremony.

The requirements include:

  • English (4.0)
  • Social Studies (3.5)
    • 0.5 Geography
    • 1.0 American History
    • 1.0 World History
    • 0.5 American Government
    • 0.5 Economics
  • Mathematics (3.0 of Algebra 1 or above)
  • Science (3.0)
  • Physical Education (0.5)
  • Fine Arts or Career Technical Ed (CTE) (0.5)
  • Electives (8.5 total)


Unweighted cumulative 4.0 grade point average.

Completed the required 23 credits to graduate.

Earned a minimum of 10 credits in Advanced Placement or Honors classes.

Take 1 of the 10 credits in Advanced Placement or Honors classes in the senior year.

P/F classes do not count toward GPA, in case of a tie P/F will count toward total grade points (number of credits completed).

In the case of a tie, the valedictorian will be the student with the highest total grade points.

The Salutatorian will be the first runner up.
