Course Offerings at Golden

Concurrent Enrollment

  • Concurrent enrollment allows students to enroll and earn college credits while still in high school. Concurrent enrollment benefits students by lowering the cost of college, increasing the flexibility of academic options, increasing the ease of access to college coursework, and preparing student for seamless transfer into college. 
  • Jeffco will pay tuition for concurrent enrollment courses if the qualified student meets and complete all requirements. Students and families are responsible for campus fees and books.
  • Concurrent Enrollment (college credit through Red Rocks Community College) offered in: Photography, Digital Photography, Drafting (3D Solid Modeling), and Astronomy.
  • Concurrent Enrollment (college credit through CU Denver) offered in AP Statistics and College Algebra.

Dual Enrollment

  • Students may participate in dual enrollment with prior approval from the principal. Students and families are responsible for all costs associated with these courses.
  • Local colleges award credit to our students at a nominal cost that the student is responsible to pay.  

ASCENT Program

  • Accelerating Students through Concurrent Enrollment (ASCENT) is a Concurrent Enrollment program which allows students to participate in college courses after their 12th grade year. This covers the cost of tuition; students pay for their own books and campus fees.

Special Programs

  • Senior Seminar - 2nd semester of the senior year. Students are selected through a competitive application process to spend the semester in an experiential learning environment.
  • Junior rafting trips - spring
  • Summer Marine Biology trip to Hawaii
  • Spanish students have the opportunity to study in Spain during summer at University of Salamanca.
